At a momentous press conference earlier today, Viceroy Jacob Jansen announced a large change to the Trade Federation. “I am pleased to announce some major changes to the Trade Federation Charter. Since my return, I have been working on an easier way to transition power for the Viceroy, to make it easier for myself and my successors. After working together with the Trade Federation Cabinet, we are pleased to announce the Trade Federation Inner Circle” Viceroy Jansen proclaimed to the suspenseful crowd of dignitaries and officials.
Viceroy Jansen would go on elaborating this groundbreaking change, explaining the Inner Circle. “The Inner Circle is a new body within the Trade Federation, distinct from the Trade Federation Cabinet. It comprises the most trusted members and advisors of the Trade Federation. The members of the Inner Circle work to ensure that the Viceroy keeps improving the Trade Federation, and has the authority to revoke or ratify anything the Viceroy does.”
He added, “Viceroys will now serve a tenure up to six months, afterwards they will return to service in the Trade Federation Inner Circle. Then, the next in line in the Inner Circle will take over as the next Viceroy. Following the conclusion of my term in 5 months, Nohv Schiller will take over as Viceroy, followed by Vas Felix, and Tovakinpi Toshikhan, before returning to myself.”
“These recent amendments to the Trade Federation Charter are designed to ensure sustained and effective leadership within the Trade Federation. With a rotating Viceroy system, we aim to maintain dynamic and rejuvenated leadership, well equipped to lead the Trade Federation,” Viceroy Jansen finished.
Viceroy Jansen has tried several times before to step down from his Viceroy position, but he always seems to be pulled out of retirement due to some unforeseen circumstance. Now, with the Inner Circle and changes made to the Viceroy within the Trade Federation Charter, there is a clear line of succession and aid for Viceroy Jansen and his successors.
As the largest neutral faction in the Galactic Civil War, many across the galaxy look towards the Trade Federation for leadership and guidance during a time of unprecedented conflict. With these new changes, Viceroy Jansen has ensured the Trade Federation will remain steady and unwavering to those that look to it, now more than ever before.
